He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Howard and Wonnie Lee Roberts Key; his son-in-law Jimmy Boyd; and his siblings, Phillip Key, Freddy Key, Dorothy Cole, Jewel Cooper and Carolyn Key.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Key of Rock Island; his children, Shannon Boyd of McMinnville, Joann Key of Rock Island, TN and Joseph Wayne Key, Jr. of Rock Island, TN; his grandchildren, Magen Bush, Keri Swoape, Shelby Boyd Arnold, Trista Key, Cheyenne Yott, Cooper Key and Carson Key; his great grandchildren, Kayden, Andy, Nicholas, Nola, Allison, Elena and Mia; and his siblings, Gary Lee Key of Rock Island, TN, Joy Tobbitt of McMinnville, Janie Copeland of Rickman, TN and Mary Jo Arms of Livingston, TN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
