It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Johnnie Deaton Grissom of Rock Island, Tennessee, who passed away on October 12, 2024, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Deaton and Nora McBride Deaton; her son Terry Grissom; and her siblings, Herbert, Pete of Clarence, H. G., Elmer Deaton, Velma Elrod, Viva Moore, Amolene Dobbins, Maxine Roberts and Claudine Dawson.
She is survived by: her daughter Sherry Grandey (Ted) of McMinnville; her grandchildren, Teddy Grandey (Michelle) of McMinnville, Phillip Grandey (Trista) of Fernandina Beach, FL and Holly Bushart (Ward) of Nashville, TN; her great grandchildren, Nick Grandey (Rebecca), Nate Grandey and Ava Grace Grandey; and her siblings, Sue Palombo of McMinnville and Doug Deaton of McMinnville. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 15th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 15th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Friendship Cemetery (450 Friendship Dr, Rock Island, TN 38581).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rock Island Church of Christ or Campaign Church of Christ.
