He is survived by: his friends, Rocky Hale, Lance Blair, Rita Brown and Debbie Jo Smith of Tennessee; his daughter Chi Na Tate Aguilar; his son-in-law Manuel Aguilar; his grandchildren, Lilyana Grace and James Burnett Aguilar; his brother John Tate (Brenda); his sister-in-law Zelma Griffith Tate; his nieces and nephews, John Tate, Jr., Jongwong Park, Annette Tate Lewis, Natalie Tate and Minhye Park; and his great-nephew William Copeland. He is also survived by several cousins and close friends.
