He was predeceased by: his wife Judy; his parents, Pharo Smithers and Tema Smithers (Lackey); and his siblings, Curtis Smithers, Reverend Charles Smithers, Pharoah Smithers, Sarah Bowling, Edith Storey, Betty Young and Wanda Ruth Henry.
He is survived by: his daughters, Traci Byrge (Jason) and Jackie Laney (Robbie); and his grandchildren, Lily Byrge, Wyatt Laney and Sophie Laney. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home (20059 Alberta St, Oneida, TN 37841). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 7:30 PM and on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM.
