He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Hitechew and Edith Julian Hitechew; his son Viencen Hitechew II; and his stepson Bobby Oaks. He is survived by: his wife Lena McMahan Hitechew; his siblings, Sue Hoss of Johnson City, Effie Hitechew of Roan Mountain, Darrell Hitechew of Roan Mountain and Joe Hitechew of Roan Mountain; his stepdaughters, Anita Hughes (Robert) of Roan Mountain, Paula Oaks of Elizabethton and Melissa Nichols (David) of Elizabethton; his grandchildren, Viencen Hitechew III, Tristen Hitechew of Johnson City and Tyler Nichols (Amber) of Johnson City; and his stepgrandchildren, Dakota Crosswhite of Elizabethton, Jona Crosswhite of Elizabethton, Nick Oaks of Roan Mountain and Corey Oaks of Roan Mountain. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A burial was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 12:45 PM. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Johnson Roanview Cemetery.
