He was predeceased by: his parents, Steward Whitehead and Georgia Townsend Whitehead; and his granddaughter Brianna Whitehead-Clawson. He is survived by: his daughter Georgie Mae (Benjamin) of Roan Mountain; his grandchildren, Layla Clawson of Roan Mountain and Gabriel Clawson of Roan Mountain; his stepdaughters, Misty Moran of Vinton, VA and Amber Williams of Johnson City; his siblings, Judy Holtsclaw of Roan Mountain, Joyce Largent of Roan Mountain, Debbie Townson of Roan Mountain, Sandra Potter of Roan Mountain, Mary Parker of Roan Mountain, Crystal McKinney of Hampton, Jackie Whitehead of Hampton, Ronnie Whitehead of Roan Mountain and Jeff Whitehead of Roan Mountain; his cousins, Juanita Jarett of Roan Mountain and Bobbie Ingram of Roan Mountain; and his close friend Edd Fields of Roan Mountain.
