He is survived by: his granddaughter Landry; his wife Tiny Kelly Sluder; his children, Misty Dawn Black (Barry Cothren) of North Carolina, Kelly Dustin Sluder (Shelbee) of Anchorage and Nicholas Keith Sluder (Amber) of Roan Mountain; his grandchildren, Harlee Black, Damian Black and Jimmy Joe Black; his great grandchildren, River Black and Clementine Reynoso; his brothers, Floyd "Bud" Odom, Johnny Odom, Kenneth "Buckeye" Sluder, Harold "Speedy" Sluder and J. D. "PeeWee" Burleson; and his close friend Steve "Roon" Boone.
