We are sad to announce that on November 12, 2021 we had to say goodbye to Dewey Murriel Holtsclaw of Roan Mountain, Tennessee, born in Elizabethton, Tennessee. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Brownlow Walter Holtsclaw and Arthene Mabelle Shell Holtsclaw; his wife Ellen Marie Holtsclaw; his daughter Janet Marie Holtsclaw; and his siblings, Tracy Holtsclaw, Leroy Holtsclaw, Faye Largent, Ruby Jean Carnett and Geraldine Edwards.
He is survived by: his sons, Ricky Holtsclaw, Michael Holtsclaw and Kenneth Holtsclaw of Roan Mountain; his grandchildren, Wes Holtsclaw, Ashlee McKeehan, Carey Lynn Holtsclaw, Sarah Moore (Ryan) and Macala Caraway; his great grandchildren, Aubrey Pike, Sophia Moore, Rhett Moore and Dallas Bell; his brother-in-law Cecil Largent; his close friend Thomas Smith (Natalie); and his niece Candy Harrald. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers or donations, Murriel wanted friends and family to continue his support of close friend Thomas Smith in the May 2022 Carter County Sherriff's primary race.
