He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Patrick and Velma Howell; and his sister Sandy Patrick. He is survived by: his son Shawn Hughes; his close friend Phyllis Hughes; his siblings, Rick Patrick, Gary Pohto and Eddie Phillips; and his nieces and nephews, Ricina, Gary, Eli, Gunner, Nathan, Chase and Brayden.
