He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Barnett and Rosie Barnett; his brother Herman Barnett; his stepmother Belvia Winters-Barnett; his sisters, Stella Barnett-Bowers, Bonnie Barnett-Hughes and Pauline Barnett Oaks-Hitechew; his stepsiblings, Lana Faye Buck, Robin Lee McMillan and Herbert Winters; and his great grandchild Elie Nathaniel Clemons.
He is survived by: his wife Anna Lee Garland Barnett; his daughters, Angelia Barnett and Melinda Buchanan of Roan Mountain; his grandchildren, Elizabeth M. Woodby (Billy), Johnathan Brad Tolley, Samantha Buchanan, Megan Birchfield (Daniel), Karleigh Buchanan, Machiah Buchanan, Isabella Buchanan, Zoey Buchanan, Casidy Buchanan and Madelynn Lavigne; his brother Todd Barnett; his stepbrother Samuel Bartlett; and his great-aunt Martha Odom.
