She was predeceased by: her parents, Weaver Holtsclaw and Ethel Holtsclaw; her husband Jake Hughes; her son Wade Hughes (Virgie); and her siblings, Conley, Voyd, Dana, Carmel, Orville Holtsclaw, Vernie Hughes, Renelee Whitehead and Norma Rea Birchfield.
She is survived by: her stepmother Nettie Endey Holtsclaw; her children, Margaret Heaton (Wayne) and Gary Hughes (Peggy); her grandchildren, Wendell Heaton (Karen), Gray and Natasha; and her sister Onza Johnson.
