He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Burress and Eva Burress (Weatherspoon); his wife Dorothy Burress (Johnson); his son Jeff Burress; and his siblings, Steve, Richard Burress, Helen Muse and Joyce Hamblen.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Rice (Steve) of Union City and Brenda Brewer of Adamsville; his daughter-in-law Carla Burress of Hornbeak; and his grandchildren, Becky Morgan of Carlisle, PA, Hunter Rice of Dresden, Eva Brewer of Millington, Dylan Burress of Newbern, Anna Brewer of Memphis and Lydia Brewer of Memphis. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
