He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Summers and Willie Lee Summers (Tabor); his brothers, Richard Summers, Junior Burress and W. P. Burress; and his great grandchild Able Tarver.
He is survived by: his sons, Danny Summers, Jr. (Angela) of Rives and Bobby Summers (Samantha) of Rives; his grandchildren, Autumn Summers, Deanna Summers, Madison Summers Tarver (James), Brittany Rollins (Josh) and Michael Summers; and his former wife Judy Coleman of Newbern. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
