It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vesta Melton of Riceville, Tennessee, who passed away on February 23, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Vesta Melton to pay them a last tribute.
As we bid adieu to Vesta's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Vesta has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Watson and Ethel Trotter Watson; and her husband Carl Lee Melton. She is survived by: her brother Armond; her sister-in-law Linda Watson of Englewood; her niece Linda Owens (Lee) of Cleveland; her nephew Tom Melton (Cathy) of Ooltewah; and her great-nephew Greg Roberts of Knoxville.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Smith Funeral & Cremation Service of Athens (1010 S White St, Athens, TN 37303). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM and at 2:00 PM.
