It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Gentry of Riceville, Tennessee, who passed away on February 21, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Gentry and Marie Gentry; his daughter Kimberly Gentry; and his siblings, Jack, Tommy, Earl Gentry, Frances Redd and Kathy Gentry.
He is survived by: his children, Shawna Deford (Todd), Sharon Shell (Keith) and Daniel Gentry; his grandchildren, Madelyn Gentry, Ashley Gentry, Jaxson Gentry and Chad Shell; and his pets, Amy, Abby, Princess and Jack. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other loved family members.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Companion Funeral & Cremation Service (400 S White St, Athens, TN 37303). A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Sunset Memorial Gardens (7180 N Lee Hwy, Cleveland, TN 37312).
