He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest McNeely and Francis Hicks McNeely; and his siblings, Weaver McKenzie, Clyde McNeely, Jim McNeely and Geneva Jenkins.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Vaughn McNeely; his son Carl Edward "Junior" McNeely, Jr. (Anita); and his grandson Dillon Chase McNeely (Chassity). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Ziegler Funeral Home (521 W Madison Ave, Athens, TN 37303-3490). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at the Short Creek Baptist Church Cemetery (892 Co Rd 50, Athens, TN 37303).
