He was predeceased by: his parents, Prestal Hix and Beulah Hix (White); and his sisters, Faye Holland, Dean Powers and Anna Knight.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Leonard Hix; his children, Jeff Hix (Kim) and Teresa Davis (Mikey) of Lafayette; his grandchildren, Justin McCarter, Casey Durham, Courtney Bray, Cassandra Johnston and Kaitlyn Wagg; and his siblings-in-law, Ruby Newberry, Reba Ferguson of Rock Dale, TX and Hugh Wayne Leonard of Bowling Green, KY.. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Anderson & Son Funeral Home - Red Boiling (544 Lafayette Rd, Red Boiling Springs, TN 37150). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at the Smith Chapel Cemetery.
