He was predeceased by: his parents, Scott Nelson and Sara Elizabeth Hillis Nelson; his brother Bob Nelson; and his nephew Scott Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Pat Nelson of Readyville; his children, Mark Nelson (Erin) of McMinnville, Dwayne Nelson of Mufressboro, Catrynia Gannon (Jeremy), Jennifer Smitty (Michael) of Readyville and Amanda Humphrey (Sean) of Albuquerque, NM; and his grandchildren, Misty McBride (Trey), Daniel Nelson (Chelsea), Brandi Harris (Justin), Matt Nelson, Austin Smitty, Will Nelson, Kellie Nelson, Audrey Smitty and Tyler Humphrey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital or to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
