He was predeceased by: his former wife Brenda Carolyn Derryberry; his daughter Melinda Carol Derryberry Young; and his siblings, Joyce Barnes, Charles Edwin "Pete" and Bud Derryberry.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Derryberry; his stepson Michael Moore; his granddaughter Amelia Young Sanders (Timmy); his great grandchildren, Melinda Hope Sanders and Sylvester Wayne Sanders; and his sister Jeanette Icenburger.
