She was predeceased by: her parents, Laphie William and Jennie Mae Sparkman Carter; her husband James Walter McBride; and her brothers, William Carter, Thomas Carter, Edward Carter and Richard Carter.

She is survived by: her daughters, Paula Denice McBride (Ken) and Monica Rana McBride of Quebeck; her granddaughter Whitney LaShay Slatten (Nick); her great grandchild Willa Grace Slatten; and also Jay Robinson.
