He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Earl Carlton and Wavel Junealaska Bailey Cook; his wife Jeanie Carlton; his daughter Drew Carlton; and his siblings, Connie Peevyhouse and Mark Carlton.

He is survived by: his daughters, Stephanie Henson (Danny) of Sierra Vista, AZ and Chelsea Crawford (Shane) of Lubbock, TX; his sister Debbie Torrance (Bubba) of Milan, TN; his half-sister Rita Crowder (Butch) of Dover, TN; his brother Jeff Carlton of Atlanta, GA; and his grandchildren, Ciara Carlton, Chaelynn Roe, Payzlea Baumann, Casen Henson, Emma Henson, Kynleigh Boggs and Kree Smith.
