With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Thelma Jane Houston Gilbert (Pulaski, Tennessee), who passed away on October 22, 2023 at the age of 67. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Houston and Alma Hobson Houston. She is survived by: her siblings, Charlie Houston Jr., Ann Coleman, Ruth Gilbert and Pearl Hammonds; her daughters, Carmita Davis (Kowi) and Cissy Fox (Christopher); her grandchildren, Avery Fox, Xavier Humphey and Briana Alexander; and her siblings, Larry Houston, Michael Houston (Jennie), Dennis Houston (LaQuita), Thomas Houston, Barbara Howard, Donna Houston and Beverly Crook. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

“I was privileged to serve as Thelma's CEO for many years. I was privileged that she called me baby. Thelma was a stand-out employee. In our National Quality Program presentation, the presentation that stood between us and selection, I chose Thelma to be one of our speakers. I did so because she was wise and articulate. I am so sad I did not know Thelma was close to death. I would have come to her side to say goodbye. I'll be there today. She is now with our Father. Jim "Chief" Edmondson”
