She was predeceased by: her mother Delia Anne Tolliver Owen; and her son Joseph Franklin Fowlkes III. She is survived by: her husband Joseph Franklin Fowlkes Jr.; her daughters, Carrie Fowlkes Brindley (Bryan Brindley) and Catherine Lankford Fowlkes (Nicholas Bean); her granddaughters, Scarlett June Fowlkes and Alice Opal Fowlkes; and also Tammie Fowlkes.
