It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sallie Ruth Black (Pulaski, Tennessee), who passed away on February 18, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lerlean Smith Gentry and Robert Gentry; her daughter Carol Gilbert (Nita); her grandson LaCurtis Black; her great grandchild Ce'Aundre Yarbrough; and her brother Thomas A. Gentry.
She is survived by: her children, Howard Dean Black (Lisa), Frankie D. Black, Michael A. Black, Darlene Black (Ricky), Jackie Garrett (Apostle Stanley) and Renona Black; and her siblings, George Gentry (Marva), Robert Gentry (Sherry), Linda Reynolds (Wayman) and Alcyorn White (John Wade). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.
