He was predeceased by: his parents, Will Cecil and Grace Leon Lightsey; his wife Dorothy Lightsey; and his siblings, Jim, Clarence Lightsey, Nellie Gober, Esta May Moles and Estelle Steravent.

He is survived by: his children, Joseph Lightsey of Pulaski and Mary Ann Lee (Melcher Dee) of Decatur; and his granddaughters, Melinda Parker and Jessica Irvin. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
