He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Thomas and Ruth Curtis Birdsong; and his brothers, Bobby Jean, Thomas Farrell, Hollis, Curtis, Dwight, Joe Mack and Tony Ray Birdsong.

He is survived by: his children, Keith Birdsong (Tammy) of Lewisburg, Kim Birdsong Taylor (Tommy) of Pulaski and Sherri Louanne Birdsong Rogers (T. J.) of Pulaski; his brothers, William Birdsong (Betty) of Pulaski and Lane Birdsong (Artina) of Pulaski; his grandchildren, Dustin Birdsong (Amber) of Pulaski, Wayne Harwell of Pulaski, Amber Williams (Alex) of Lawrenceburg, Ashley Stewart of Mt. Juliet and Charlie Rogers of Pulaski; and his close friend Teresa Randall. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
