She was predeceased by: her parents, Lera Minatra McCracken and Mahlon S. McCracken; her siblings, Doris, Bernice, Valera and Mahlon, Jr. (Buddy); her husband John W. Wheeler, Sr. (Booty); and her daughter-in-law Kim Stiles Wheeler.

She is survived by: her children, John, Jr. of Hopkinsville, Janet Sullivan (Justin) of Bon Aqua and Jim (Mary) of Kissimmee, Florida.; and her grandchildren, Stephanie, Trey, Kay Lauren, Katy, Mallory, Steven and Andrew. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and friends.
