He was predeceased by: his wife Mardra Abernathy; his parents, Minard Abernathy, Sr. and Ruthie Douglas; and his children, Wesley Brown and Amanda Abernathy.
He is survived by: his children, Sheila McCollom of Pulaski, Sherryl Brown of Nashville, Minard Abernathy III of Pulaski and John Abernathy of Pulaski. He is also survived by 8 Grandchildren 6 Great grandchild.
