He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathan Willoughby and Lela Englett Willoughby; and his children, Vickie Longenbaugh and James Raye Willoughby. He is survived by: his daughters, Lydia Willoughby of Pulaski, Joni Willoughby of Chapel Hill and Tonya Willoughby; his grandson Zachary of Houston; his stepson Darrell Walker; his daughter Hannah of Houston; his grandchildren, Ashley Herndon and Carli Youngman; and his friend Judy Willoughby of Houston. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.
