He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Whitson; his son Tony Byrd; his siblings, Ed Whitson, James Whitson Wilard, Lindsey Whitson, Mattie Nicely and Mildred Miller; and his parents, Pauline Whitson and Jake Whitson.

He is survived by: his daughters, Tammy Whitson and Tina Varner (Robert); and his grandchildren, Jacob, Breanna, Tony and Nikki.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for the funeral expense.
