He was predeceased by: his wife Pearl Elizabeth Emert; his parents, William Emert and Helen Emert; his children, Lee Thomas, Joe Thomas and Beverly Williams; and his siblings, Frank Emert and Lorraine Weaver.
He is survived by: his brother Harold Emert; and his children, Samuel David Emert, Jr. (Bobbie), Dean Emert (Sharon), Jamie Emert, Brian Emert, Margaret Sherwood (Mack), Sandra Emert, Glenda Owens, Darlene Shelton (Steve), Ann Emert and Annette Emert. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 44 great-great grandchildren; and a multitude of extended family.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Grandview Memorial Garden. Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home (621 S Charles G Seivers Blvd, Clinton, TN 37716). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Grandview Memorial Garden.
