He is survived by: his wife Sheri Smith of Powell, TN; his children, Patrick Smith (Tesika) of Piedmont, Josie Polanco (Marcos) of Powell, TN and Stephen Smith of Piedmont; his grandchildren, Jratyn Humphrey, Declan Smith, Halo Smith, Carmen Polanco and Isabella Polanco; his siblings, Frances Reeves of Piedmont, Janice Smith of Piedmont, Judy Stitts of Piedmont, William "Jody" Smith, Jr. of Piedmont and Randy Smith (Brenda) of Piedmont; his great-nephew Dylan McMurray; and his parents, Jody Smith and Helen Smith. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
