He was predeceased by: his father Charles Phipps; and his grandparents, Grace and John Phipps. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Martha, Earl Needham, Red and Flame; his son Jonathan; his daughter-in-law Jada Phipps; his grandson Ryker Phipps; his mother Francis Louise Phipps; his mother-in-law Francis Mardell Brewer of Tazewell; and his wife Judy.
