It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willie Freeman of Portland, Tennessee, who passed away on November 27, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Odell Freeman and Allean Freeman (Carter); his siblings, Opal Freeman, Jewel Freeman McWhorter, Jean Freeman Taylor, Paul Freeman and Charles Freeman; and his brother-in-law O. B. McCoin, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Joan Freeman (McCoin); his children, Cynthia "Cindy" Freeman of Cincinnati, OH, Rita DeLozier (Curtis) of Columbia, TN and Stephen D. "Steve" Freeman of Portland, TN; his grandchildren, Lauren Boyd (Darek) of Portland, Justin Freeman (Ashlyn) of Portland, Jordan Freeman (Chelsey) of Portland, Hannah DeLozier of Indianapolis, IN and Jarrett DeLozier (Camille) of Franklin, TN; his great grandchildren, Tateum, Lila Paige, Hudson, Baker, Carter and Lila Camille; his brother Jackie Freeman (Judy) of Franklin, KY; and his sister-in-law Patti Greenberg of Nashville, TN. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, & numerous friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to a scholarship they are creating in Joe's memory; The Joe Freeman/Freeman Farms Memorial Scholarship Fund.
