It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sherman Denney of Portland, Tennessee, who passed away on February 4, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Halcomb Denney and Loretta Jean Presley Denney; his stepdaughter Denise Weaver; and his sisters, Janice Woodard and Georgia Campbell.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Baker Denney of Portland; his children, Jason Denney (Sonja) of Bethpage, Shawn Reed of Portland and Lisa Groves of Gallatin; his son-in-law Brad Weaver of White House; his siblings, Jeff Denney (Sally) of Kentucky, Wayne Denney of Nashville, Connie Denney of Portland and Debra Brown (Ricky) of Portland; his grandchildren, Kyle Phebus (Stevie), Drake Allan Phebus, Rylan Phebus, Thomas Denney (Bailey), Brandon Denney (Becca), Julie Denney (Jon), Bradley Groves (Morgan) and Hannah Groves (Jordan); his great grandchildren, Aiden Phebus, Rylan Phebus, Lilly Sumner, Blake Sumner, Kaden Denney, John Luke Denney, Silas Denney, Levi Denney, Waylon Collins, Mason Collins, Levi Collins and Peyton Groves; and his pet Koda. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin to assist the family with expenses.
