He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hershel Shetters and Opal Irene Peters-Shetters; his sister Dianne Shetters; his grandparents, George, Ellen Shetters, Mit and Mae Peters; and his father-in-law Homer Mayes.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Mayes Shetters of Portland; his sons, Ty Shetters of Westmoreland and Todd Shetters (Katie) of Portland; his grandchildren, Scarlet Shetters (Isaiah Mason) and Paisley Shetters; his sister Judy Freeman (Ben) of South Pittsburg, TN; his aunt Barbara Rinehart (Mark) of Jacksboro, TN; his mother-in-law Norma Jean Mayes; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Ola Pitt (Charles), Lesia Black (Kerry) and Homer Dale Mayes (Lisa) of Portland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Halltown General Baptist Church (120 Dink Rut Rd, Portland, TN 37148). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions to be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Tennessee (https://www.alz.org.) in memory of Fred Myron Shetters.
