He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph McGuffie and Bessie Jewell Perdue McGuffie; his sisters, Vonnie Poole, Idell Stagner and Mary Dean McGuffie; and his grandson Layne Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn McCloud McGuffie of Portland; his daughters, Teresa Payton (Bill) of Foley, AL, Benita Newland (David) of Portland, Lisa Hudson of Westmoreland and Tina Henson (Josh) of Portland; his grandchildren, Dustin Newland (Holly), Brian Newland (Tara), Tiffany Payton, Tommy Link (Hope), Trevor Denning (Nadia), Tiana Likens (Pettie) and Trace Henson (Tamala); and his siblings, Hillard McGuffie, David McGuffie, Kenneth McGuffie (Linda), Elaine Bomar (Wayne), Sue Kennedy and Linda Gilliam (Randy). He is also survived by 19 great grandchildren.
