It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Edith Maybell Carter Wix of Portland, Tennessee, born in Gallatin, Tennessee, who passed away on August 12, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Billy Scruggs and Lucy Carter; her husband Bobby G. Wix; her daughters, Carolyn Greer and Diana McIlveene; her grandson Mikie Walker; and her siblings, William Carter, Frizzo Carter and Ada Conyer.
She is survived by: her children, Bobby W. Wix (Tracy) and Barbie Jackson (Cleveland); and her siblings, Homer Carter, Mary Ann Waldrop, Irene Conn, Agnes Epley, Shirley Barber, Betty McPhaill, Hildra Creek and Penny Dickerson. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the funeral expenses.
