She was predeceased by: her father Hubert Earl Scharklet Sr.. She is survived by: her husband James D. Thurman; her sons, Michael D. Padgett (Stephanie Smith) and Joshua Thurman (Portia); her stepdaughter Ursula Thurman Babb (David); her grandchildren, Kiersten Padgett, SeQuanna Alexander and David Babb; her great grandchildren, Julianna and Daren; her siblings, Earlean Atkins (David), Jessie Stevenson, Melba Crocker (Larry), Roslind Bryan (Keith), Hubert Scharklet Jr. (Sharon), James Scharklet (Faye Nan) and Robert Scharklet (Sherry); and her brother-in-law Howard Thurman (Paulette). She is also survived by nephews, nieces.
