He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Graves and Maybelle Hammock Graves; and his grandson Connor Hunley. He is survived by: his wife Diane Fulton Graves; his children, Johnny Akins, Rhonda Akins Pryor (Ron) and Chad Graves; his grandson Rylan Graves; his pet Lexus; his siblings, Kenneth Graves (Shirley) and Diane Mosley (Woody); and his siblings-in-law, Kevin, Sherry Butler and Ann Fulton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak the family is having a private memorial service.
