He was predeceased by: his parents, Bob Taylor and Willie Mai Jennette Nicholson; his former wife Opal Hardin Nicholson; his daughter Diane Fain; and his siblings, Jerry Ray, James Albert, Willie Howard "Wimp", Billy Wayne, J. W. Nicholson, Alma Moore, Alice Lawson, Maydene Pendergraft, Sally Pearl Hardy and Shirley Ann Perry.
He is survived by: his grandsons, Jessie Hudspeth and Terry Johnson; his wife Nancy Bedwell Nicholson; his children, Robert Nicholson (Brenda), Linda Bethel (Steve) and Angie Dixon (Ronald); his brother Paul Nicholson (Debbie); his son-in-law Ray Fain; and his grandchildren, Shawn Goff (Lisa), Matthew Nicholson (Samantha), Tabitha Nicholson, Aaron Nicholson, Rusty Bethel (Misty), Larae Johnson (Terry), Brandi Hudspeth (Jessie) and Kayla Holloway. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
