He was predeceased by: his parents, Cooper Nicholson and Thelma Nicholson; his wife Betty Nicholson; his son Mike Meadows; and his siblings, Bobby, C. W. Nicholson and Marvalene Oglesby.

He is survived by: his daughters, Lori Senn (Shaun) and Shelia Sesler (Boobie); and his siblings, Joe (Linda), Betty Mac and Mary Alice. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
