He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin Carr and Lucille Carr; his wife Margaret Marie Carr; his children, Connie Carr and Gary Carr Sr.; his siblings, Curt Carr, Tim Carr, Don Carr, Lynn Carr, Kenneth Carr, Mick Hensley and Juanita Hensley; and his great grandchild Mackenzie Bardo.
He is survived by: his sons, Steve Carr (Debbie) of Telford, TN, Jeff Carr (Sandy) of Elizabethton, TN and Randy Carr (Brenda) of Oregon, IL; and his grandchildren, Brandon Carr (Wendy), Mindy Roberts (Danny), Tequisha Reed (Robbie), Cara Carr, Shane Bardo (Ashley), Jessica Parker (Travis), Gaye Durst (David) and Gary Carr Jr. (Angel). He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A procession was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home – Kingsport Chapel (2630 TN-75, Blountville, TN 37617). A graveside service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Lovelace Baptist Church Cemetery (930 Ryan Rd, Chuckey, TN 37656).
