It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Hawk Gates of Piney Flats, Tennessee, who passed away on March 11, 2023, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Isaac Hugh and Edith Hayes Hawk; her husband Wendell B. Gates; and her siblings, Robert F. Hawk, Lawrence I. Hawk, Alex C. Hawk, Grace Nolan, Margaret Leeper and Sarah Cross (Pollie).
She is survived by: her son Wendell B. Gates, Jr. (Andrea) of Piney Flats; and her caregivers, Peggy Barker, Tina Balthis, Joan Cannon, Connie Johnson, Leona Strouth, Kathy Sullivan, Patty Wilson, Pat Wyatt and Carrie Schwartz. She is also survived by several nieces, great nieces and great nephews.
