He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus McCarty and Christina Haun McCarty; and his brother-in-law Robert McElyea. He is survived by: his wife Merlita McCarty; his sisters, Nancy McCarty and Kathy McElyea; his daughter Danelle Trahan (Fabian); his granddaughters, Cortney Renova (Humberto) and Chelsea Poling (Ryan); his great grandchildren, Miguel, Miya, Kyler, Madilyn and Emma; and also Brian.
