He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Johnston and Virginia Johnston; his in-laws, Henry and Pauline Turner; and his sister Glenda Melton.
He is survived by: his wife Pat Turner Johnston; his daughter Julie Estes (Greg); his grandchildren, Parker Estes of Jonesville and Luke Estes of Jonesville; his sister Rita Freese of Naples, FL.; and his close friends, Steve "Doc" Webb and Chad Cox. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
