He was predeceased by: his daughter Kathy Cooley; his parents, Roy Smith and Estell Smith; and his siblings, George Smith, Billy Gerald Smith, Betty Dunn, Leroy Smith, Homer Smith, Edna Savage, Reva Holt, Wilma Hankins, Gaither Smith, Harrison Smith and Joe Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Smith of Pikeville; his children, Bobby Smith, Marty Smith, Jeff Smith (Priscilla), Tim Smith (Stephanie), Rick Smith (Amy), Andy Smith (Sheryle), Jody Smith (Ann), Joshua Narramore, Colton Smith, Alice Bickford (Andy), Amanda Smith, Linda Walker, Renea Pickett (Charles), Shelia Josey, Pat Smith (Michael) and Kaylee Narramore; and his sisters, Virginia Summers (David) and Eva Johnston. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Putnam-Reed Funeral Home (1171 Main St, Pikeville, TN 37367). A burial was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Collier Cemetery (Pikeville, TN 37367).
