He is survived by: his parents, James M. and Rachael Russell Burns; his wife Annie Margaret Brewer Burns of Petersburg; his sons, Jack E. Burns (Pam) of Murfreesboro, Mike Burns (Tammy) of Nashville and Joe Burns (Brenda) of Petersburg; his siblings, Margaret Baker of Lewisburg, Linda Pickle (Dan) of Lewisburg, Judy Shepherd (Rick) of Unionville and Jimmy Burns (Donna) of Christiana; and his stepsisters, Ann Gibson of Shelbyville, Marie Collins of Shelbyville, Jana Swan of Shelbyville and Gayle Vincent of Shelbyville. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren.
