He was predeceased by: his parents, Worth Burns and Mary Houser Burns; and his siblings, Betty Pate and Johnnie Burns. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Franklin Burns; his children, Emily McKennon (Tony) of Petersburg and Brad Burns (Christine) of Knoxville; his grandchildren, Samantha, Sierra Campbell, Kristina Cox (David), Haley Miller, Brianna and Zachary Renfro; and his siblings, Rachel Greene, Janie Burns, Rita Burns and Nelson Burns. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
