He was predeceased by: his father Homer Lewis Layne Sr.; his grandsons, Trenton Layne and Tristan Layne; his brother-in-law Kenny O'Neal Sr.; and his sisters, Rita Thompson, Sherry Harris and Joyce Jacobs.
He is survived by: his wife Glenda Layne; his daughters, Kim Ransom Layne, Holly Goins and Kristen Hill (Chad); his sisters, Faye Henley and Freda Layne; and his grandchildren, Tyler, Kassidy, Caitlin, Connor and Kaden.
